Visiting from Sundale
Eely Point is the gentlest walk on this list. From the Wānaka town lakefront, roughly ten minutes from the park, follow the shore to the right past the marina and you are there in about 20 minutes over 2 km, flat the whole way and easy to fit around a nap or a late lunch.
Another five minutes around the point brings you to Bremner Bay, a good family swimming spot, so take togs and something to sit on. Eely Point itself is sheltered and set up for boating and picnics, which makes it a sensible first afternoon after a long drive south.
From Bremner Bay the Beacon Point Walk carries on and suits all ages and abilities, including baby buggies and bikes, and the Outlet Track links in from here too. Stretch it as far as the children will allow, then head back to the park for the playground and the seasonal pool.
